Installation Guide for WM868-RFU USB Gateway Drivers

The guide is valid for the Windows 10 operating system; however, it should also apply to lower versions such as Windows 7 or 8.

Procedure 1:

If there is an issue with the drivers for the USB gateway – RFU-H (with 2 virtual COM ports) in Windows, follow these steps:

1. In the Device Manager (on WIN10, it’s Device Manager – open it by right-clicking on Start), locate the appropriate COM port.
2. Proceed with updating the driver.
3. Select manual driver installation (NOT automatic).
4. From the list of devices, choose COM and LPT.
5. In the list of manufacturers, select Microsoft.
6. In the list of drivers, choose Serial Port.
7. Follow the same procedure for the second serial port.

Procedure 2:

On some Windows 10 installations, using the native Microsoft drivers (procedure 1) does not work because serial ports are not listed. In this case, use the UGW3.INF file. You can download it from the "Software to Download" section.

The installation proceeds as follows:

1. In the Device Manager, locate the appropriate COM port.
2. Proceed with updating the driver.
3. Search for the driver on your computer (not automatic search).
4. Click the “Browse” button and locate the ugw3.inf file.
5. Repeat for the other serial ports (the USB gateway has 2).

Optoconf Installation Guide

The guide is valid for the Windows 10 operating system; however, it should also apply to lower versions such as Windows 7 or 8.

To successfully install Optoconf, you will need the following three components:

1. Driver for our IrDA – USB Converter

This is an .INF file, irdaconf.inf, which you can download from the "Software to Download" section. During installation, you will need to bypass the fact that Windows 10 no longer supports the installation of unsigned drivers by default.

Once you follow this procedure, you can install our irdaconf.inf driver by right-clicking on it and selecting “Install.”

2. SetupJSerial.msi

This library (available in the Software to Download section) is required for Java to work with the serial port. Note that the library only supports 32-bit Java. Therefore, you will also need to install the 32-bit version of the JRE (Java Runtime Environment).

Don't worry, both 32-bit and 64-bit versions of Java can coexist on the same system.

You can install SetupJSerial.msi like any other program, e.g., by double-clicking on it.

3. The Optoconf Program

You can download the ZIP archive directly from the Software to Download section. To run the optoconf.jar program, right-click on it and select "Open with..."
From the list, choose the correct version of javaw.exe (the 32-bit one).
