City energy management

The city of Kralupy has been using the CEM Monitor system since 2016 to monitor the consumption of electricity, gas, district heat and water, as well as to measure the indoor temperature in schools and other city buildings. Thanks to the CEM Monitor, the heating systems have been set up correctly and water leaks have been detected in time. The savings for the city can be calculated in the units of millions for energy and water that were not consumed unnecessarily.

Kralupy nad Vltavou is a town located on both sides of the Vltava River 25 km north of Prague, in the Mělník District of the Central Bohemian Region. The town's infrastructure includes, in addition to several schools, an ice rink, a swimming pool and a cultural centre. This infrastructure requires high energy and water requirements.

Solution description

The CEM Monitor system has been implemented in 33 city buildings. It includes such demanding facilities as the ice rink and swimming pool. In all facilities, data is collected from foot meters, electricity meters, gas meters, calorimeters and water meters. The indoor temperature is measured in the buildings in order to obtain independent information on the thermal conditions in the buildings for the control of the heating system. The CEM Monitor application allows continuous data analysis for Energy Management.
