 This module for remote reading of meters and sensors via the Sigfox IoT network complements a number of our modules suitable for online monitoring and Smart Metering. The WS868-Srmt module is intended for remote reading of consumption meters (water meters, gas meters, electricity meters, calorimeters), which are equipped with a standard pulse output, commonly used in the field of energy and media consumption measurement (“SI” type output). The module has two SI type inputs, to which two consumption meters can be connected, which can be of different types, with different units and initial states. The module continuously reads the pulses generated by the consumption meters into the internal counters and transmits current data on the status of individual counters in the form of radio messages from the Sigfox network. The report with the current survey values ​​of the consumption meters contains, in addition to the survey data of the connected meters, also the battery voltage and the ambient temperature measured by the internal temperature sensor. The transmitted messages are further transmitted via the Sigfox network to the “Back-End” network server, from where they are forwarded to the specified IP address of the recipient via the Internet. The recipient of the messages is the user’s application server, which decodes the messages and further processes the data contained in them. The WS868-Srmt module is equipped for two-way communication, using the radio message of the “Downlink” service it is possible to remotely set the initial values ​​of the pulse input counters and change the period of message transmission. The “Downlink” radio message is compiled by the “Back-End” server based on the configuration request of the application server. The WS868-Srmt module is enclosed in a moisture-resistant plastic box and is suitable for indoor and outdoor use. The module is powered by an internal battery, which allows it to work for up to 10 years at a frequency of 4 to 6 readings per day. Battery life can be negatively affected not only by the set shorter interval for sending the status of counters, but also by operating the device in buildings with a temperature outside the recommended operating temperature range.
